There are an ever-increasing number of great books out there that cover 3rd generation Mustangs.  

Here's a number of the books we’ve found VERY useful in doing research for the GT Registry:

    Tons of gorgeous photos and facts about our favorite cars!!  Sections cover detailed information about each year, model, etc.  An excellent resource for information on these cars!! Only 5,000 of this book were made so you may have a tough time finding a copy.  Highly recommended!! (excellent)

    If you are looking for stats and specs on 1979-1993 5.0L Mustangs, this book is the one to have in your library!!!!  One of the most complete collections of information we've found on these cars.  We highly recommend this book! (excellent)

Mustang 5.0 & 4.6

    This is a pretty good book if you're interested in getting some general history of late model Mustangs.  Approximately half the book is dedicated to the 3rd generation Mustangs with some nice photos.  It even has a pretty interesting section entitled Mustangs on Track with some neat vintage pictures of 3rd generation road racers and drag racers.
  • Miscellaneous Ford dealer sales brochures, manuals, books, sales literature, shop manuals, etc.

    These probably contain THE most useful type of reference material we can get for the registry. There were MANY types of books, manuals, literature, etc. used by Ford dealers at the time the cars were new that contain all sorts of valuable information.  We are still in the process of trying to collect as many of these items as we can.

    Brand new book to be released 2/1/17.  Complete history of the Ford Mustang.
Standard Catalog of Mustang 1964-2004
  • Standard Catalog of Mustang by Brad Bowling (2004) (Krause Publications)
     Nice book with year by year information and nice photos. Covers Mustangs 1964-2004.

One thing we have noticed is that there are frequently inconsistencies in the data contained in many books, therefore, the information in these books should not always be considered gospel.
